This is a wonderful and fun game. Especially the online multiplayer it's the coolest and yet funnest thing to play. You should buy this game and it has a low price!

The Transformers game I always wanted!

Yeah, I have gotten every Transformers game out of sheer bliss, but this is the first one to really tickle my inner childhood dreams. This is the Transformers game fans have been waiting for! It has oustanding voice work, especially by Mr. Cullen, the graphics are good, the character models are fantastic, the music sets the tone, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the story is great. It tells you wait happens before the beginning of the original G1 Transformers series! And the game plays like a dream, think Transformers meets Gears of War, it's a really great game!!!! And the online is like Unreal Tournament's multiplayer! It's a shame this game didn't sell as well as it should have! A must buy for Transformers, and shooting game fans alike!

play as both sides

Its going to make fans of the series go crazy cus its actually good. Its have good gameplay mechanics, the story is pretty good and you get to transform most of the time. Multiplayer isnt that great but the singleplayer alone makes up for it.

took it,loved it

first of all its a great game but i don't get why they left out great chariters like jetfire's brother boid it can be a little stupid at times but now i see

A celebration of Transformers lore!

I re-watched the first two seasons of the G1 series before getting this game, and while it takes place in its own continuity, it does have a ton of references (characters, locations, lines, trophy names...) back to the classic show. It also draws upon the other TF series, comics, and even the recent Michael Bay movies (only in a few character models, thankfully). There's also a lot of design and gameplay elements you've seen in other games like Vanquish, Gears of War, Uncharted and the Halo series, as well as a few things from the Matrix films.

I found the game to be a blast for the most part. I'd read the complaints about repetitive gameplay and short length but found that they sort of balanced each other out; each level is just long enough to not be tedious (and they do mix it up with different characters and their abilities, and one flying level for each of the factions), and the boss battles are memorable. The lack of ammo does play a factor in the game (especially in the Autobot campaign) but you learn to deal with it. I enjoyed the fact that you have companions throughout the game, and loved hearing their one liners and banter (some of the voices are off, and some have unnecessary accents, but the quotes are gold). The controls take a bit of getting used to, but after a while they become second nature; I haven't seen anything else in gaming that comes close to the thrill of being able to jump off a building and transform and blast off as a jet in mid-air.

My only real complaints about the game are technical - I had to download an update which then took almost 45 minutes to install for some reason. Every time you start up the game, you have to sit through at least 2 loading screens for the menu and save files, respectively. Loading screens (and having too much going on in a battle) will often cause the game to stutter and even freeze completely (three times during my play-through). The cutscenes use the game models but are very low quality for some reason. Sometimes you'll see an enemy jump around in the same spot in a neverending animation loop, or see your allies transform back and forth for no reason. Finally, at times the camera will be in a bad spot and you'll be destroyed by enemies or weapons you can't see.

Transformers justice!

I know it was an upset with the 1st two transformer games based off the movie but trust me, they have giving us justice with this new transformer game. Escalation mode is fun, online is cool & the story mode in campaign mode just keeps you in the game. You won't be dissapointed, especially if your a big fan.

War For Cybertron- Worth it?

Transformers: War for Cybertron is a fairly new game that seems to have gotten off pretty well. It ties in at the bare minimum with the movies, so it doesn't necessarily have anything to slow it down. Despite this, it somehow finds a way to be slowed down by itself. Like several Transformers games in recent years, the two different campaigns make for a few extra hours of gameplay, however, unlike its predeccesors, the campaigns don't parallel each other and go in order of events.
The game is fairly fun, but it's also a little repetetive. Being a wave-shooter, you have to stay on your toes and try not to get shot. The lack of ammo vs. alternate weapons can be a little disappointing now and then, but in several cases, can give you new battle strategies and an advantage in battle when it changes.
The vehicle modes look cool, but unless you're in one of the 2 missions that lets you take control of a jet, they're not incredible. The jets can boost, hover, and have infinite ammo for their two weapons, which is one more than all other vehicles.
The game is not horrible. But it's not quite deserving of the review sticker that comes on the packaging when you buy it, which gives it a 9/10. Personally, I give it a 7.2/10. For a full review, you can check Gamespot and read the review there.

not the "arkham asylum" for transformers

this game is very good, but i was hoping this was going to be the transformers game we all have been waiting for! sure its better than previous ones (based on the movies) but the game isnt what i call the "arkham asylum" of transformers...and fair warning to those who have yet to play it.....i beat it and ill just say...if that was the easy mode, id hate to see hard mode! majority of the time, the game felt like it just switched difficulty modes on you without warning!

So much fun

So much fun, a complete blast! It's not the most complicated game by far, but if you are a Transformers fan then you will love this game. I know I did.

The Transformers game we all were waiting for

War for Cybertron is the Transformers game we had all been waiting for. Where the movie-game adaptations fell flat, WfC taps into the original canon from the TV series to shed light on the events that happened on the now doomed home planet of the Cybertronian Robots in Disguise, and what drove them to leave and land on Earth (as seen on the pilot of the original 80s series). The voice cast is great, with Peter Cullen reprising his eternal role as Optimus Prime; granted Frank Welker is not Megatron, but the alternate voice actor does a great job nevertheless as the maniacal Decepticon leader.

All in all, it's a great shooter, with some rather bland background environments that otherwise look pretty stunning, along with the character models. Storyline is great, and controls (especially transforming) are smooth. Definitely the Transformers game the fans have been waiting for-- think of it as a Transformers' version of "Batman: Arkham Asylum".
