Description

Set in the interval between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, this first-person adventure lets you step into the role of the galaxy's most heavily armed bounty hunter, Jango Fett, as you track a renegade Jedi across the galaxy, collecting information (and bounties) along the way.

In addition to Jango's trademark dual blaster pistols, your armor bristles with gadgets and weaponry: darts, flamethrower, blowtorch, scanner, cable snare, and--of course--a missile-launching jetpack. Use this arsenal to battle hordes of uncooperative guards, fend off rival bounty hunters, scale precipitous skyscrapers, and capture fugitives--dead or alive. The basic controls are surprisingly easy to master, and you've got enough armament at your disposal to fight your way out of almost any situation. Still, some finesse is required: as fun as it is to walk into a room and blast everything in sight (and it is fun--especially when you're the one wearing the jetpack), you may discover when the smoke clears that the guy you just fried was worth twice as much alive. Oh well...

The complex storyline is revealed by extended cutscenes that let you rest your thumbs while Jango follows up the next lead. (Star Wars fans will appreciate the quality and detail of these scenes, as well as the fidelity of the story arc--namely how Jango is chosen as the model for the clone troopers in Episode II.) And anyone familiar with the Lucas Arts suite of games will not be disappointed by the superior graphics, music, sound effects, and fully realized characters and locations. The pace of the game is up to you: methodically seek out the secrets of each level, or ruthlessly blast your way to the big payoff. --Maile Bohlmann

Pros:

  • Impressive graphics and rich detail
  • Excellent scripting and voicing
  • Nice balance between action and strategy
  • Controller setup is intuitive and easy to learn

Cons:

  • Long stretches between save points
  • Climbing sequences can become redundant
  • Weapons must be holstered to use scanner, leaving you vulnerable

Fun, but not like I remembered it.

I was happy, but I remember the game being much better. I think i've just been spoiled with new games. Great game anyway.

5 Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of the BEST games I've ever played, and the outtakes are so funny! There are a couple of cons though:
1. The levels (especially The Breakout) are so long!
2. In the long levels to be beat, there are a ton of bad guys to take you down and you only get 5 tries before you have to restart the entire level all over again.
That stuff can really get annoying on the longer levels. When you are IDing the bounty's, you are vulnerable. I don't mind though because that just makes it more fun.
It's easy navigating the levels. There are a few levels that can get confusing, but other than that the navigating part is easy. It takes a while to unlock all the levels. Unless you use the cheats. Then it only takes less than a minute. This game is really fun to play and I like watching the little videos that are inbetween,at the beginning, and sometimes during each level. If you liked the bounty hunters or the clones in Star Wars, you should get this game.

Truly a great game

I'm by no means a huge gamer, but I do have quite a soft spot for Bounty Hunter. The game gives a strong and interesting backstory to Jango Fett while engaging you in enjoyable gameplay. There's something intangible about this game that makes it feel...real. It's not that the graphics are absolutely impeccable, though they're generally quite good - not to mention the mindblowing cutscenes, courtesy of ILM. There's just something about the way the levels are laid out, about the combination of sneaking around and having shootouts with the enemy, about the sound design, about the variety of experiences you have on the different worlds. It's just generally a lot of fun to play.

The controls are quite easy to use, for the most part, though that's not to say the game itself is always easy. Certain areas can become quite difficult to get through, particularly when there are multiple enemies with missile launchers or sniper rifles...or when facing the genuinely scary Bando Gora for the first time.

The only real downside to this game is the lack of any real puzzles. Although you're not shooting all the time, you're almost always either doing that or sneaking around, trying to figure out where to go. In that sense, there's perhaps a little less intellectual stimulation than I'd like. But it's still quite a blast.

Bottom line: if you're a Star Wars fan, you'll have a great time playing this game, and you'll look awesome in the process, too. =P Jango has a propensity for doing that, no matter whether he's flying, blasting away at multiple enemies with both pistols, capturing bounties, flipping through the air in unusual ways, or all of the above at the same time.

Jango is the Best

You know what never gets old in a game?Going into a room filled with enemies and kiliing them all.Sound fun?The story takes place before Clones and after Menace. You are Jango Fett the most feared Bounty Hunter in the galaxy(of course this is before Boba). You are sent on a mission to capture a deranged, psychotic, sith cult leader.
I like this game because you feel like you are Jango. You can use your duel twin blasters,flamethrower,jet-pack,whipcord,jet-packrocket,and poison darts. The bad things are the story is a bit lame, missions are repedetive,if you kill your bounty you just hosed yourself, and enemies never stop coming. If you like star wars this is a perfect game for you.
