Description

Metroid Fusion is a side-scrolling action game that's more in line with the series' NES origin than its GameCube contemporary, the first-person action game Metroid Prime. In this one, players take the bounty hunter Samus on an extermination mission through a research facility to kill X parasites--nasty creatures that absorb and assimilate the powers of their host. After she survived an X attack through the use of a vaccine made with X parasite DNA, she can now absorb the parasites to regain health and obtain special powers, like the morph ball, space jump, and wave beam. The problem is that the parasites are quickly making their way through the research lab's many dangerous projects and subsuming their abilities.

As a special bonus to GameCube owners, Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion can each unlock special features in the other game via the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance cable. For example, by completing Metroid Fusion, you can unlock the original NES version of Metroid in Metroid Prime. By completing Metroid Prime, you can unlock Samus's fusion suit for use in Metroid Prime.

Why am I writting this now?

If you're like me you love metroid (hence the reason for my custom metroid plush-thingy beside me), and you'll love this game. It's as engaging as Zero (probably more) and is very good when you're sitting in a car for 2 hrs. Though the storyline is alot like Alien 2 (hence the name Ridley, the giant dragon thing, from Ridley Scott), so if you like the idea of a 'ally' trying to get an alien creature money, then you'll like this.(though for me killing baby metroids makes me sick - physically)I thought it was a pretty good game for a GBA game. I only gave it 4 Fun Stars because though it was fun it had that special Metroid repetetive-ness (i.e. 'Get to your ship(again)','Go to Sec. 5(again)'), and all that stuff.(and about the zero thingy it is way better[most likely due to the new storyline])

My opinion so if you don't like it , well, I don't care.

Met-roid Fu-sion, Ha! Just kidding!

Ah, Metroid it brings back memories. This game is pretty hard, I haven't finished the game yet. The graphics are better than the original Metroid, although GameBoy Advance is just a hand held version of the Super Nintendo... It's a great challanging game based on strategy and alot of thinking.

wait ????/

let me clear up the story the discription is wrong samus when she is infected with X crashes her ship and is injected with METROID dna (from the super metroid )and her suit is removed and modified by GF. And her suit parts are sent to the BSL where they become SA-X which frees X into the statoin .Ironicly Metroids are X predators so samus is able to absorb them to gain lost abilities and energy but she gains a weakness to cold which leaves her venrable to samus-Xs ice beam so you have to avoid it until the showdown...

Good game but short comming In @ 5 hrs & DEFINITLY not worth $80

Just wanting to put It out there that this game, just like every other Metroid game ever, IS good...but this game Is VERY short & NOT worth the $[...] that the current seller is selling this for.

The reason I'm giving this game such low stars is because of the length.

Sci-fi perfection

I don't play video games much, and I certainly don't review them, but I have to go out on a limb here to give Metroid Fusion some stars. I just finished the game (yeah, just...like I said, I don't play much) and it was absolutely incredible. The graphics are great and the gameplay is set up in a brilliant way to keep you entertained from start to finish. That said, I found the game nigh impossible at times, but there always is a solution to each predicament. I loved how intricate the story was, and how most of the maps ended up being puzzles. I'm going to look more into the Metroid series, because the creativity in this game was phenomenal. There's a whole host of "bad guys," tons of bosses, and weapons gallore that just get better and better. My only wish would be that I could have played around with Samus at full power a little before the credits rolled, but oh well. This game is still incredible; it is an absolute blast to play and it'll work your gray matter too. 5 stars, easily.
