Description

Imagine a World with no Limits

Imagine a world that's yours to shape, build and explore. Imagine the possibilities, then jump head first into the reality. LittleBigPlanet puts the power of absolute creation into your own hands. If you can see it, you can enhance it. If you can't see it, you can invent it.

The LittleBigPlanet experience starts with players learning about their character's powers to interact physically with the environment. There are places to explore, creative resources to collect and puzzles to solve - all requiring a combination of brains and collaborative teamwork. As soon as players begin, their creative skills will grow and they will soon be ready to start creating and modifying their surroundings - the first step to sharing them with the whole community.

Characters have the power to move anything in this glued and stitched-together 3D landscape; they have the power to design, shape and build both objects and entire locations for others to view and play. There's no complicated level editor; all of these skills can be learned by simply playing the game. Creativity is part of the game play experience and playing is part of the creative experience.

Fathom out ways to overcome tricky obstacles as you interact with the surrounding environment, or compose inspirational locations and objects that are totally unique to you. Immerse yourself in an organic world that's just waiting to be personalized.

Players can make their world as open or as secretive to explore as they like. When it's ready, they can invite anyone within the LittleBigPlanet community to come and explore their patch - or can go and explore everybody else's.

Bye it.

I love to play with my freinds online and to talk i love it. You bye it NOW.

Changing how you think of platformers

I've always been a platformer fan, myself, but the truth is that platformers, in the traditional sense, have been going out of style since 3D became the big thing.

This game, however, brings it back with a vengeance, and makes for an endless amount of fun.

The level designs are gorgeous and engaging, and you can literally make levels as in depth as the company-made ones. That's saying something. Go online, and there are hundreds of different levels, new levels, to play.

What I really like about this game, though, is the multiplayer aspect. It's a game that's ridiculously easy to teach and to learn, and it begs for two-player action. I like playing this game more with friends than I do alone. Even when I'm alone, I can play with people online.
Some parts of the game require 2, 3, and even four players to get through. Don't let that turn you off; you can hook up with players online at any time, and there's always someone on.
What I'm saying is, we have a platformer that ENCOURAGES multiplayer action. And it works out well!

Bottom line, this is the most fun I've had playing a video game in a long while.

Imagination Runs Wild!

Right from the intro screen, this game draws you in. The whole experience is highly creative, and though it can be short, sharing levels and designs (and searching for every item and bonus level) adds lots of replay value.

A few notes:

- Like any platformer (including the Mario series, which obviously inspired a lot in this game), LBP can be somewhat uneven. Most of the game goes by fairly briskly, but several levels has areas that can be very frustrating. It's not so much that the sections are difficult; it's more that the controls can be imprecise and sometimes gameplay aspects aren't always clear. For instance, one of the levels has you jumping on rotating barrels over a lava pit. I tried that same area probably 20 times (you get four "lives" per checkpoint) before realizing I could grab onto the barrels, making it much easier to navigate between them. And while the last few levels are supposed to be challenging, there are some parts that have to be replayed dozens of times before you finally get through them (plus if you lose the four lives, you have to replay the ENTIRE level just to get back to that point, which really annoyed me).

- While the 3D aspect of the game (where you can jump between the foreground and background) is generally well done, at times it isn't clear whether some things in the background are "solid" or just there for decoration, and sometimes you'll get killed when the game doesn't register that you want to jump down rather than just stand at the edge of a platform. Super Mario Galaxy was more precise in this aspect, even considering the awkward controller.

- The first few levels feature a narrator who helps you along the way and points out new powers and such, but he disappears for the rest of the game.

- Every level is filled with decorations and materials that you can use in the level creator, which extends the gameplay considerably. There are also keys in several levels that lead to bonus stages - these can be fun, but I'd prefer another regular level or two (maybe another ninja level, as those were great!).

- There are places where playing with another person (or more) can net you even more bonuses.

- You can also find clothing and such to create multiple puppet designs. Mine included a zombie, homeboy and fairy girl (tee hee!).

- The music fits every level. The settings are diverse, including versions Mexico, Japan, New York and India, and you might find yourself stopping just to hear the unique songs.

If you play alone and aren't into level creation or collecting items in a game, going through it will take around 10-15 hours. Despite the problems and frustrations, you'll still enjoy the game for its quirkiness.

The Best Game

No way this is the best game i have ever played!.

It is full of funny levels and promise lot of fun with your family and friends

I'm now a believer

I recently acquired a PS3 mainly for the upcoming release of the game "Heavy Rain, though in the meantime I decided to check out the other main attractions for the system. Valkyria Chronicles and Metal Gear Solid 4 are the first games that I played and they were nothing more than movies with some interactive parts and I starting to suspect that the entire system was filled with nothing but interactive movies. My fears were suddenly nullified after playing LittleBigPlanet. Honestly, this game looked like a lot of unsubstantiated hype but it's the most fun that I've had with the new generation of console gaming (and I played a lot of the X-Box 360 games). The game is challenging without being annoying, and when you become frustrated with the main game the online community levels help to alleviate any stress. There is also an infinite amount of replay value contained in this game. Don't like any of the levels? Create your own! Seriously, the level creator is incredibly deep, intuitive, and accessible to any gamer. Not to mention, people have created in games in pretty much any genre as well. So...play it now!
