Description

MODEL- AGBPFDKE VENDOR- NINTENDOFEATURES- NES Classics: Donkey Kong Man v. monkey: The eternal struggle. Before Mario became super he was a brave carpenter (or so says one early promotional flyer) instead of a plumber and had an 800-pound gorilla on his back. You can shake off that monkey all over again in the re-release of Donkey Kong as part of the NES Classics series. The game looks great on both the Game Boy Advance and the Game Boy Player for the Nintendo GameCube. As the story goes this freak-of- nature gorilla kidnaps the beautiful girl. Mario being the chivalrous type runs to the rescue. To reach damsel in distress however Mario must avoid the gorillas killa posse of barrels fireballs and bouncing rivets.Along the way Mario picks up big points when he hammers barrels and fireballs and snags the umbrella purse and hat that the girl dropped during her abduction. Once Mario reaches the girl DK pulls a fast one and takes her away to another level. Mario doesnt know hes fighting a never-ending battle in the name of love but dont feel too sorry for him. Even though he never really gets the girl in Donkey Kong he does collect a lot of coins in the other games in which he appears and should be pretty rich by now. Two players can take turns competing for the girl either on the same Game Boy Advance or with the help of a Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable. Plus you can save your high score to memory (you need almost a million points to beat the worlds record so you better get jumping). * Classic arcade action * Two player alternating* Sound effects that shaped a generation -- SPECIFICATIONs ------------ESRB Rating : E for Everyone Genre/Category : PlatformSystem : Nintendo GameBoy AdvanceNumber of Players : Compatible Peripherals: MANUFACTURERWARRANTY: 90 DAYS

No Pie/Cement Level.

Hello, guys, this is a port of the NES version, which did not have that level.

Anyway, this is a port of Donkey Kong, for the Nintendo Entertainment System, which is port of Donkey Kong for the arcade. It's as fun as ever.

Good ol' classic fun!

I always loved Donkey Kong as a kid, and this just revived my love! The only down side is that it's missing two more levels than the arcade version, just like the NES one. It's still a great game and provides hours of fun trying to beat your high score! Definitely worth the price.

Great fun, don't lose out if you love retro games!

I'll get this out of the way. Yes Nintendo is lazy. Yes, they should have ported the real DK. Yes, the previous GB version is techinically a superior game. Now that that's out the way, you should still buy this. The previous version made for the original gameboy isn't in color and the graphics were updated to reflect the new DK games. This on the other hand is what we all fondly remember DK to be. I'm a huge retro gamer and am sorry I didn't add this to my collection sooner. If you are you'll want this too. Missing level or not it's classic DK and it's great being able to play it on the go.

Ok Game

Good game that really resembles the original arcade classic. Get's boring fast though.

Donkey Kong classic

This game is just like the SNES game. The only drawback is the small screen on GBA or DS. I was used to the TV with my old SNES. For kids, it is great and easy enough to figure out yet challenging enough to keep them entertained for a while. For me, a grandma, it was a little challenging to recall the controls and what I had to do to complete a level. It is a great way to regain a part of my younger days.
