Description

Gameplay
Like the original BOOM BLOX game Bash Party is based around fast-paced gameplay that utilizes players' reflexes, dexterity, and problem-solving skills. During the action players use the Wii Remote to direct objects and forces toward structures made of blocks in order to knock them over. There is also Jenga like gameplay during which players pull blocks, with the goal of toppling as many of them as possible, but without bringing down the whole structure. In doing this players have to deal with the different types of blocks in play. Some of these include: gem blocks, blocks with point values attached, explosive blocks that detonate on contact, vanishing blocks that disappear when struck, wood blocks, and steel blocks. In addition, as the game progresses strategies may change, meaning that players must be flexible in order to succeed.

New Characters and Environments
Explore exciting new themed worlds with unique physics and dramatic visuals. Create chaos, watching puzzles and explosions unfold, while drifting under water, or floating in zero gravity. For even more strategic destruction, BOOM BLOX Bash Party also features all-new Blox, tools and characters. Experiment with the explosive and infectious Virus Blox, or the ever-moving Conveyor Blox. Experiment with new shapes like Cylinders and Wedges, or use the new Cannon and Slingshot toys to sling and launch blox. Even the new cast of characters is in on the action. Warning: This Game is Highly Addictive!

My son recommended this game to me, knowing that I like puzzles and strategy, and he was right on target. I LOVE this game! There are many levels to play, and even more that can be downloaded (if your Wii is connected to the internet.)

The game is seems overly-simple: use bombs, bowling balls, slingshots, and other items to knock down block towers. However, it is not that easy. Many of the games are very challenging - you only have a limited number of turns to knock down the towers, and so it requires some strategy and a lot of trial and error. The characters in this game are family friendly and downright funny - as you are playing, they are doing random things in the background that sometimes affect your game (for good and for bad.)

This is a great family game for all ages. It can be played in single player, co-operative, and VS modes. It has countless hours of playing fun (I have yet to unlock all of the levels, and I have played quite a bit!) and it is great to play alone or with others. It is an addictive must-have for family-friendly Wii game collections.

A game we can agree on

I got this game for my 10-year-old son. Finally, a game we can agree to play together. He, of course, wants to play shoot-'em-up games, which I don't want him doing just yet. In Boom Blox, we can throw things and blow things up, but we're not killing people, etc. Just the animals, which are not realistic looking anyway. There are plenty of levels and challenges to keep it interesting, and I like that you can just knock things down and make noise, or use your brain to figure out the 'optimal' way to complete a puzzle. I really like this game for family play.

It's catchy

Not the greatest game ever, and some modes are really frustrating (I'm looking at you, slingshot) but it is still really fun. I would sit down to play and an hour or two would roll by before I knew it.

Fun for All!

My family really loves this game, as well as many of our friends who have come over and played it. It's just as much fun as the first Boom Blox, with many more levels and differnt games. The only disturbing thing is that the little characters in the game are pretty violent. You don't notice it at first b/c you are busy playing the game...but they throw each other off bulidings, throw stones at each other an beat the crap out of each other. It seems unnecessary and not relevant to the game.

Bash Party

I was surprised at how much skill it took to disassemble the various tower of blocks. Actually taught a little about balancing and controlling the speed a block could be removed at.

Grabbing the little characters adds a bit of fun to the game, they can be annoying if you just let them stand there and dance all the time.
