Howl and squeal out of tune and you'll be shown the door with Simon's words of "encouragement" ringing in your ears.

Can you make it through the grand finale? Why not challenge your friends to see who will go home with the American Idol crown?

Based on the smash hit reality TV show, sing your heart out in front of virtual Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson complete with over 10,000 putdowns and words of 'advice' recorded exclusively for the game.

Over forty tracks to choose from including: 'Baby One More Time,' Genie in a Bottle,' 'Bye Bye Bye,' and 'A Moment Like This.'

Dress your Idol contestant to impress with a full wardrobe jam-packed with clothes, shoes, hairstyles and make-up.

Fun & Cool, No Upsets

The people in charge of making American Idol: The Game made it as best as they possibly could. First of all, you get to pick your gender and your wardrobe, and then you start singing in the "audition" round. If you do well, you go on to sing in another round with another song and another outfit. This pattern continues, but the songs get faster and harder. Some might ask, how do you play this game?
Do you actually sing? The answer to that is a definite no. A circle loops around your Game Boy character filled with A & B's. You press the A & B buttons when the transparent box comes to them in the circle. It's very simple and well-thought.
The better you center your presses, the better your score is. Also, be sure to dress modestly; your wardrobe choice will either get a thumbs up, an OK sign, or a thumbs down. The songs range from Elvis to Britney Spears and while they do get old before long, play the game in moderation; don't overplay it so you don't get tired and bored quickly. Some people complain that the songs get old, but hey, they did over 30 songs for the game, if the executives did every song in the universe to fit the game just to satisfy everybody's wants, then I wouldn't be writing this review because the game still wouldn't be out yet. Needless to say, they did the best job they could do on this game. The judges do look rather quirky, as well (especially Paula), but they did a pretty good job; not too shabby (to quote infamous AI4 contender Mary Roach), and it's DEFINITELY not a reason to buy this neat and entertaining game.
It's BY FAR one of the best and most fun GBA games out there!

Seems fun?

hey guys, tell me more about the game! I have a ds- it's awsome- this game would work on it.

It's...uhhh...ok

Ok, first things first, it's got music you've heard of. Great. It's got bad graphics. Paula looks like an old Charlie Brown Comic. Simon looks like a pixelated monster. Randy is the worst, he looks like a Hershey Kiss. Bad. The singing, bad. Even if you've got all of them happy faces, you're pitch is like someone on a trampoline, up and down. This would work great on the Nintendo DS. 64-bit graphics. YESS! Sound, you would sing, the DS has a microphone! Ahhh.... I can only dream. For now I recomend Karaoke Revolution Party. Bye

a good game

This is a great game! Don't belive to all of those people saying it's garbage. i like it because you pick a character (boy or girl) and pick out there outfit, and then you do compiticion, rehersal or endurence. compiticion is where you compete to be crowned american idol, rehersal is where you can practice unlocked songs, and endurence is where you practice every song on the list until you are voted off. it's really fun and i think more people should buy it!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

Umm....

When I first got this game I loved it. I beat it over and over again. Everyone at school was constantly playing it whenever I brought it. Truth to tell whenever I brought it I was a little bit popular. But then the game just got old. It's doing the same songs over and over again. The graphics stink! And the judges say the same thing over and over. "Oh that was great" even if you didn't press a button the entire time. And then when you finally do OK at the finale they say " You stink now get out of here." It's a tuly dissapointing game for Idol fans. The Playstation 2 version is better though.
