A Classic Story
The first in a series of anticipated video game titles based on Agatha Christie stories by game publisher ‘The Adventure Company,’ here a group of people, strangers to each other, are invited to a lavish estate on isolated Shipwreck island by a formerly unknown host. Through a recording, their mysterious host accuses each of his ‘guests’ of murder and proceeds to exact ‘justice.’ Tension mounts as, one-by-one, the number of people are reduced through the ingenious plotting of the unseen killer.

Patrick Narracott - And Then There Were Eleven
Movie and stage adaptations of Christie’s masterpiece are also listed under the title Ten Little Indians, referring to the story’s creepy ongoing reference to a nursery rhyme and its parallel as the ten strangers are eliminated each in turn. What’s new in the Wii version is that along with the original ten characters from the novel, an eleventh, your own, has been introduced. Playing as Patrick Narracott, the boatman ferrying the visitors to Shipwreck Island, you meet and interact with the other ten characters, doing whatever it takes to gain their trust, learn their darkest secrets and opinions regarding the mystery and in the end do your best to not become the eleventh victim.

Gameplay
A point-and-click, single player adventure game from a third-person perspective similar to the PC version of the game, the Wii version of And Then There Were None pushes the interactive nature of the gameplay by utilizing the motion sensing capabilities of the Wii Remote. As players progress through the story they must collect both verbal clues from the ten non-playing characters, as well as in-game physical pieces of evidence found throughout the house and grounds of the island. Learning and use of specific twisting, digging and sweeping motions possible through the Wii Remote are crucial to find the hidden items and once these items or other evidence is acquired the Wii remote is again used to combine these correctly into the in-game journal system. The journal is broken into a different page for each of the ten non-playable characters in the game as well as the found items and is available to players at any time, eliminating the possibility of players forgetting their current goal as well as any need to keep track of in-game events through means outside the game.

Events in the storyline of the game can also vary, limiting the possibility of the same game experience twice. Divided into chapters and acts within these chapters, players explore each act in turn, only moving to the next act after a specific action or goal has been achieved. But in each act, along side these key actions and goals are a variety of hidden mini games. Like mini games in other Wii games these can be played through or skipped as players choose without fear of missing something vital to the completion of the game, but in and of themselves provide players with a chance at richer gameplay.

Multiple Game Endings Mean Longer Playability
Although closely following Christie’s original storyline and retaining all the original characters from her novel, the multiple game endings built into Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None hold something for even those most intimately familiar with the story’s well-known twists and turns and in the process provide hours of additional gameplay.

Will the mystery of Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None turn out as you remember from the book, movie or play? Perhaps, but this time you are not just reading or watching the adventure, you are living it and only those using their cunning, wits and puzzle-solving skills will avoid becoming the eleventh victim and escape from Shipwreck Island.

Yes, it's flawed, but we love it anyway

In terms of game mechanics, this game leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes it's repetitive, or doesn't make sense, or you have to go online and look for clues from others who've already solved the mystery. To anyone who says it's not worth the time or it stinks, I truly understand that.

Having acknowledged that, I still love this game, and I'll tell you why. First, I have read almost every Agatha Christie novel and I love them. I've seen both film versions of this one and I've seen the play done really well. So I love the story so much and the setting so much, it's worth it for that alone. My husband and son played this with me and watched me play it for hours. My son helped me draw a map of the rooms in the mansion and keep track of clues, so it was a fun mother-and-son bonding thing. My husband and son both said that one of the things they love most about it is the soothing soundtrack, from rain storms to music. They also love the quaint English dialogue - they still quote some of the games lines from time to time.

In short, I'd say this game is like a beloved family member - yes, they leave a lot to be desired, yes other people might not enjoy their company (and you know why), but you love them anyway.

Clever, Underrated, and Fun!

This is a GREAT game! We started the game Monday night and finished it last night (Wednesday). It's a hard game to stop playing and I loved the clever mysteries within the story. Tha narration is also well done ,creepy, and intriguing. There is absolutely NO need fo a strategy guide or a walkthrough if you have enough intelligence and/or patience for puzzles. Clues are all over the house for codes & you can't get stuck if you talk to everyone and explore all areas. Your actions trigger the next actions. Search an area, talk to everyone, then search again. Easy enough. The only point we got stuck at was the second to last chapter when we couldn't find one of the guests. 10 minutes later we talked to everyone in a different order and were feeling stupid for our oversight.
I DO NOT recommend this game for inexperienced, casual, or impatient gamers however! Like Silent Hill & Resident Evil, advancing depends on figuring out how to put items together, where to use them, and who to talk to -but on an easier scale puzzle-wise. The controls are easy to use with the Wii remote and includes things like turning doorknobs and digging with a shovel, which adds to the interactive intrigue of the game.
It is also made by The Adventure Company who are known for their excellent puzzle/mystery games. If you can't sit still for a few hours to read a book, you would probably be better off playing Super Smash Bros or something similar. Also, it is impossible to die playing this game so you can really enjoy the story unraveling. To those who love only survival horror with constant enemies and battling crazy zombie/demons, you may be bored. I love many survival horror games but find an overdose of enemies around every corner to be distracting...
A final warning to people familiar with the book -the ending has been changed to suit a video game and to insert a playable character, but at the end you are treated to the end of the original story as a bonus in the form of a voice-over letter.
I can't wait to get the next 2 games!!

Yuck!

I had really high hopes for this game. I love mysteries and Agatha Christie is the queen! But this game just did NOT live up to my expectations. The puzzles are so complex to figure out that my husband and I had to look up cheats on the internet just to move onto the next level. Definitely not my idea of fun.

Sorry, this one just didn't do it for me. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone.

Buggy game - Boring Puzzles

This game suffers from so many problems. First, the load times between pages are really long and annoying. Second, the puzzles are boring "find the item" ones that require talking to everyone and clicking everywhere on the screen until you can advance the plot. Last, the game has bugs that cause it to crash and end unexpectedly. This was verified when I complained to technical support, there are major bug problems. For example, in the game you find a raft - but if you open it too far from the water you lose your progress and the game crashes. Dumb.

Almost impossible without a walkthru nearby

I bought this game after finishing and liking the nancy drew wii game. I have never felt so reliant on a walkthru as I did with this game. There are all kinds of items that you can pick up but half of them are never used and dont have a purpose. There were MANY times where I would get stuck and have to refer to the walkthru only to think "omg I never would of found that or thought to do that". This is like one of those NES games that one of my brothers friends used to physically beat the crap out of before we had the internet to help. Sooo, if you dont mind to wonder around aimlessly or keep the walkthru up on the comp next to you, Ya might like this game.
