Fun, but tracks are harder than normal

I'm a big AC/DC fan, so this is a lot of fun, but the tracks are harder than most other tracks, so while I can play many songs on "Hard," these kick my butt and I have to put it back to medium. Maybe I'm just getting old.

If you like AC/DC.....

If you are into AC/DC then you'll just like this "expansion pack" as to say. This coulda been easily been a download album rather than having an exclusive disk version. Doesn't even come close to RockBand Metallica in term of production and quality. Some notes are just impossible to hit and come to think about it you won't get much bang for your buck. 3 out of 5 stars and I wouldn't quite recommend it.

Good tracks, lousy interface.

AC/DC Live: Track Pack has all the rock-edge you've wanted to play in a music game. The songs are fun to play, with accurate-enough charts and tunes that even if you didn't think you knew--most of which--you'll realize you've heard on your local rock station a dozen times before (which by no means is a bad thing). Obviously this will cater the most to fans of the band, and really, if you don't at least moderately like AC/DC I have no idea why you'd pick this up.

All of the songs are currently--and possibly *forever*--exclusive to this disc, so don't expect to find them in the DLC updates. According to an article I read online, AC/DC refuses to put out individual tracks (either in music games like Rock Band or Guitar Hero, nor individual mp3s found in services like iTunes) because they consider themselves a 'full-album band'... which is an unusual attitude to have, but I get it, I guess.

The only qualm I really have with this Track Pack is that, since it uses the Rock Band 1 system, you need to play through a Career-style menu in order to unlock each song. (Eg. You start off with Song 1 and can't advance until you beat it, which then unlocks Song 2 to play.. then Song 3.. and Song 4, etc.) Although, once you've completed all of the songs, they're yours to play in Quickplay, but don't expect to be able to create your own tracklist once you have unlocked them all--you'll need the Rock Band 2 functions for such things.

Luckily, the game comes with a one-time use transfer code--as mentioned in the description--to let you download the entire set as one giant file to your 360's harddrive for use with either Rock Band game in the series (and supposedly future Rock Band games as well, but we'll see about that), keep in mind that you'll need to connect to Xbox Live Marketplace to use the transfer code however.

Now THIS makes rock band ROCK!

I put the track pack in and play all 18 ac/dc songs in a row! Great endurance songs on the drums! So fun! I'm a babbling idiot, trying to think of something better to say besides OOOH this is much better than a lot of that weird thrashy stuff that fills rock band. I know every song on this trackpack by heart via my headbanging teenage years, but the music is basically ROCK not metal or thrash or punk. Just so awesome. Worth every cent and more. Thanks, ACDC, for releasing this great addition to an already awesome game!

Fairwarning: ac/dc has rare technical drum moments but is basically an endurance test + fun. The guitar is a blast to play, more veried and technical than the drums -- but I don't like technical, tho, so I tend to love the simplicity of ac/dc on drums. If you love complexity, mathmatically and musically-speaking on drums (off-beats and 8th notes etc) this track-pack isn't going to be your cup of tea at all. However, the songs are really LONG and you get a great work out and have an awesome, but non-technical time just beating away to simple beats. I played all 18 songs the first night on Hard and beat the trackpack. Easy and medium are really slow if you play rockband drums often. Expert offered more challanging moments. But if you're what I deem a 'problem-solver' or if you have a great ear, like my piano-playing-genius-with music-great-at-patterns daughter, you'll probably find this trackpack unvaried and boring - if on the other hand you're not a problem-solver, hate patterns, and are just a wild drum beater and like to have fun without thinking too hard (like I do) you'll love it.
